I sit too still in an empty room, the skittering will begin
We’ve set up some traps and we’ve locked down the food
But all our precautions they seem to elude
And into my ears will unwelcome intrude

It might be easier to abide if it were just now and then
They scavenge the feeder for something to eat
And then raid the garden when they want a treat
And up on the rooftop I’m hearing the beat

We’ve put a call in to pest control, let’s hope they can get here soon
Don’t open that crawlspace, there’s something inside
Some creatures that choose in our house to abide
They’re trying to be sneaky but failing to hide

I hear the critters on every side, impossible to avoid
When the great outdoors starts to come inside, I start to feel paranoid

With them scampering all around it’s hard to be unaware
They’re so good at hiding they rarely appear
And yet I still notice whenever they’re near
Because all around me I constantly hear
